  • It's the possibility of more not gray that is scary

Friday I gave the toddlers cooked mashed pumpkin and let them go to town playing in it.  They smashed and splattered, squeezed and oozed, and had an overall goodtime.  Now the clean up took me forever, but it was worth it.  The drawback was I had pumpkin in my hair.  One of the fathers came in and upon spying the condition of my hair had to have a closer look.

Father: You have something in your hair.

    Me: Pumpkin

    Father: You have gray hairs.

    Me: Yep.

Father: You are very calm about it.

Me: Have had them since highschool, they haven't gone anywhere yet, and I can't be bothered to try to keep my hair colored with the way it grows.  They don't bother me.

    Father: You could pull them.

Me: (looking horrified) If there is any chance that the old wives tale of two growing in the place of each one you pull is true I will never pluck a hair.

Father:  I thought they didn't bother you.

Me:  It is not the gray I fear, but the additional hair.  I already look like a poodle that licked a light socket.  If you pulled out a hundred hairs two hundred might grow back.  That is an extra hundred.

Come on people, look at me....do I look like I need any extra hair.

  • I very quick highlight

I am going to try and condense the last month and a half.

Job- still commuting each day... going okay...now am in a older baby room fulltime (all four are 18 months), except when they send me to another room...things keep changing

Car- found out what strange noise/grinding was...not quite nothing like I was told...brakes failed ... brakes failing not fun... not on the thruway or interstate when they failed ...brake shoe came unglued, damaged drum, cracked master cylinder, lost brake fluid- something like that, ask dad he knows...dad could fix it so I only had to pay the couple hundred for parts

Apartment-  found one, just got it this week... I move in a couple of weeks... in Victor... very close to thruway... twenty minutes from work... cute

Cat-  a pain in the butt... won't kill the mouse

    Mouse- still alive and pooping

Lizard- moved in with Mom and Dad... trailer to cold and drafty

Trailer- dad fixed furnace and ramp... mouse still alive

Kids-  fun... did apple picking and sleep over with Enya and Andrea (all three came home from a party with me)... canceled second sleepover-sick... fed ducks with Sawyer, Andrea, and Enya... library night with Sawyer and Andrea

Health- 101-102 fever, just now starting to not ache (10 days)... thought it was flu but still really hungry-possible infection?...  wisdom tooth came in just a tad more, hurt to eat for a week

    Think that is all.

  • A great invention

There is this really awesome invention that allows cars around you to know what you are about to do while you are driving.  It is called a turning signal.  Now if I can just get everyone in Rochester turned on to it I might actually live to see my next birthday.

  • Huh?

I stopped at a gas station Friday on my lunch break and grabbed a soda (fountain mountain dew is my one bad drink vice).  As I was putting ice in the cup I see it is labeled "regular ice"  I think nothing of it, just means they consider cubed ice as regular ice... no big deal.  I turn to get my top and notice briefly the other ice dispenser.  I am expecting something along the lines of crushed ice or such.  I do a double take.  It is clearly labeled (in a nice laminated professional sign) "low-carb ice".    Low carb ice?  Ice is made of water.  Water doesn't have carbs... exactly what are you putting in your water that I have to worry about carbs?  I am not usually paranoid, but I don't think I'll get a soda from there again.  Last thing I need is their ice to kill me.

  • The Mouse

I have a mouse, it has been annoying me for weeks.  Impa finally caught it last night.  Played with it.  And then let it go.  I still have a mouse.  Stupid cat... may be I won't feed him for a week... that should do the trick.
